Primary Care and Public Health 2016.

Last month I travelled to Birmingham for the Primary Care and Public Health 2016 conference. This event is run over 2 days and consists of 22 pick and mix conference programmes and allows professionals to learn and network with other professionals.

The event is free for professionals to attend and allows them to gain valuable CPD hours. There’s also a large area with stands from various companies with lots of freebies to pick up. I must say I do like a free pen and there were plenty to collect during the day, along with other relevant information which can be taken away for reading.

I chose not to mix and match the programmes and only attended the Child Health programme. I was disappointed that one of the speakers had to pull out of her talk on ‘protecting children from domestic violence’ due to illness. However, there were a number of other interesting topics which I enjoyed during the day. I would certainly consider going again but would like speakers to have a bit longer to talk, as they have to include lots of information into such a short space of time.

I am looking forward to receiving the handouts in order to feedback to the team and share any new information with them.
